Raluca Buzdugan, Ph.D. Architecture

Raluca is the founder of the Safe Interior Project. She is an accomplished professional, leading the design of award-winning office and residential projects. She is also teaching at The University of Architecture and Urbanism Ion Mincu, in Bucharest, Romania. She has a passion for solving difficult problems and creating good buildings.

Vlad Simionescu, Master of Architecture

Vlad is the Managing Partner for Vlad Simionescu & Asociatii Arhitecti, an award winning architectural studio in Bucharest, Romania. He was awarded twice The Union of Architects of Romania Prize, the highest national honor in the profession. Vlad is a perfectionist looking out for Beauty and Efficiency in every project.

Dan T. Simionescu, Ph.D. Biology

Dan is a Professor of Bioengineering at Clemson University, USA, currently working on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. For this project, he offers his expertise in biochemistry, cell biology and pathology, combined with design and implementation of biomedical engineering devices for the benefit of mankind. He is the leading scientific advisor on our team.

Maya Simionescu, Ph.D. Biology

Maya is a Biology Researcher and Professor, President of the Biological Sciences of the Romanian Academy. She is also a founder of the Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology of the Romanian Academy, which now bears the name of Professor Nicolae Simionescu. The principal scope of the Institute’s research is the cellular biology and pathology of the cardio-vascular system in health and disease.

Arina Cadariu, M.D. Master of Public Health

Arina is a Hospitalist Attending Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at NEMG/YNHH and Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, USA. She has a Masters degree in public health with the division of chronic disease epidemiology at Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health, USA. She is our top medical advisor on issues related to germ transmission and immune system responses.

Lawrence S. Ng, Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Real Estate Finance

Lawrence S. Ng was Senior Vice-President at Pontiac Land, a real estate development company in Singapore, overseeing their projects including 53W53 in New York City. Prior to joining Pontiac Land, Lawrence Ng was Principal at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. During his thirty-year tenure at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, he served as Project Principal and Design Team Leader for the architectural design and master planning of more than ten million square meters of commercial developments all over the world.

Yvonne Toader, Master of Architecture, Master of Urbanism

Yvonne is a top graduate architect with extensive experience in Interior Design, Project Management and Real Estate for residential and commercial buildings. She is also serving as an active member on the National Council of the Romanian Order of Architects. Throughout her practice, Yvonne has acquired a deep knowledge on how people use buildings. She is a firm believer in Interior Design and Architecture being about and for the benefit of people.

Mihnea Buzdugan, Master of Engineering

Mihnea is a HVAC engineer, with extensive experience in air conditioning and ventilation installations, ranging from design to start-up to aeraulic adjustments. He is currently involved in the construction of several hospitals in Romania. His expertise and interest in latest tehnologies in this field will help us develop the best strategy for maintaining a healthy indoor air quality during epidemics.

Alexandru Chertes, Master of Engineering

Alexandru is an engineer, inventor and researcher, with over 35 years of experience in high technology medical equipment, power electronics and bio-lab equipment. He is currently working in biotechnology. On our team he will look at the various design opportunities for devices that can help in disinfection and protection from viruses.

Cerasella Crăciun, Ph.D. Urbanism, Master of Architecture

Cerasella is an architect and researcher, the creator of award winning landscape and urban planning projects throughout Romania. She is also Professor at The University of Architecture and Urbanism “Ion Mincu”, in Bucharest, Romania. Her experience with transdisciplinary research teams and projects, including therapeutical spaces and landscapes, will help linking all of our efforts and resources.

Gaby Schwartz, Master of Architecture

Prof. Architect Gaby Schwartz graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion (1986) Cum laude. He is the Founder and head principal of Schwartz Besnosoff Architects and town planners Ltd located at Haifa, Israel. Today, Gaby is the Head of the Thesis studio at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion – I.I.T – Israel institute of technology. Prof.Gaby Schwartz has won important professional awards such as: The Richter 2003 Award, the Eylon 2005 Award, the Emilio Ambaz Award for Green Architecture 2009, and the Israeli Design awards 2011,2012,2017,2019 .
