Interior Design Strategies for Improved Safety of Office and Education Spaces during epidemics
This project studies and develops methods to create safe work and education environments for office workers, teachers and students during epidemics like Covid-19 and flu. This was prompted by the lack of design norms on this subject and the need for a solid set of guidelines for school and offices reopening after the Covid-19 peak.
THINK SAFE – WORK SAFE – STAY SAFE
Develop a set of interior design guidelines that will substantially diminish and prevent germ spreading in office and education interior spaces.
Identify interior areas and surfaces that are prone to germ spreading in regular office and education environments.
Identify the elements (objects, devices, type of surfaces) and strategies (procedures, circulation flow, communication methods, seating and planning layouts) that prevent germ spreading in office and education environments.
Develop a method/checklist to analyze and audit interior spaces for risks associated with germ spreading.
Develop interior planning strategies/guidelines to limit germ spreading in office and education environments.
